Juan Carlos Travieso
Mr. Travieso has over 27 years of experience in the industry and 24 years of academic experience. He holds the degrees of Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) with honors, Master of Science (MSc), and Electrical Engineer (EE). He has the credential of Project Manager Professional (PMP No 1303126) granted by the Project Management Institute since 2009.
Regarding his professional experience, he has worked as deputy Project Engineering Manager in a Mega Project in Bechtel (6 billion USD CAPEX); Site Manager and Engineering Manager at BHP Billiton (300 million USD CAPEX); as Tie-in, Commissioning and Field Engineering Manager at SNC-Lavalin; as Global Subject Matter Expert at Fluor in the areas of DCS / PLC, control strategies, and variable speed drives; as Engineering Functional Manager and Project Manager at BRASS Chile S.A; among other companies. Mr. Travieso has worked in engineering projects with official language (written and spoken) in Spanish, English, and Portuguese.
Currently, he works as a full professor (tenure track) at the Universidad de Santiago de Chile. He has research and academic experience, leading and researching in several research projects. He is author or co-author of over thirty scientific publications, including two book chapters.
