Senior I+D Engineer

Jose Aravena received his civil engineering degree in electricity from the Universidad de Santiago de Chile in 2018. He has extensive experience as a researcher, teacher and project engineer, which comprises more than 5 years in the area of power electronics. He has also assumed the responsibility of being the guiding professor of 5 undergraduate students, who have successfully completed their studies in the electrical engineering department. Among the projects he has participated, CORFO and FONDEF electromobility projects stand out. Currently, he is the director of the StartUp Ciencia 2023 project code SUC230174 that involves the design, development and certification of a charger for electric vehicles mode 3 made entirely in Chile.
His interests are focused on the development of converters for areas such as renewable energies, green hydrogen, motor drives in mining and general purpose energy converters. His main roles in the research center include the design of electronic cards, the programming of control units and the design of hardware in power electronics equipment.
